Are smartphones the problem?
If yes, then why do you stop using your phone moments after you lose connectivity?
Smartphones are the easiest to blame.
You can see your phone, touch it, feel it. It’s tangible, easy to point to, and blame. But if you went to an area with zero WiFi or cell signals, I promise you won’t use your phone.
I won’t.
Wait – so that makes Internet connectivity the problem, right? Remove the Internet and we’ll all go back to our senses!
But is that truly the problem?
If you lost all connectivity right now – not just for a few minutes or hours but for 6 months – will you survive?
I think yes. I really think you would.
In fact, I’m willing to bet money you’d already have another replacement for the Internet. Another “internet” and smartphone substitute.
So what really is the problem?
I’m not sure but I think the real issue is boredom.
